Sunday Salon: NaJuReMoNoMo

Small LogoI haven't started reading for the Salon yet and won't until this afternoon. However, I thought I'd spread word of the unpronounceable NaJuReMoNoMo, er, National Just Read More Novels Month, coming up in January. Click here for more information.

I'm all for reading and reading more and made-up holidays and all that, but these acronymic titles based on NaNoWriMo are getting out of hand!

Also, a reminder: BAFAB Week starts on January 1st as well. And if you don't know what that's all about, click on over to my!

OK, that is totally ridiculous! And why is it Read More NOVELS? Why not just Read More... as in novels, short stories, poetry... On that note, check out The Short Story Reading Challenge . A great initiative... more power to them!

National Read More Month would have a nice ring to it: NaReMoMo.

I encourage all kinds of reading. About half of what I read is non-fiction. My inspiration for Just Read More Novels was that everybody spends all November writing novels, so January is a good time to read novels. It's a way to relax during the winter.

And I signed onto the Short Story Challenge as well.
