An interview with Herodotus, the Father of History

"Back in the day my audience used to listen, rapt, as I described the eight principal rivers that bisected Scythia. Now, not so much."

Herodotus, the Father of History (who has been tweeting an abbreviated version of the History over at @iHerodotus), was interviewed recently by novelist Clare Dudman. Part of their conversation has to do with my book, Reading Herodotus (now out for the Kindle, with paperback and hardcover editions coming soon), but they also touch on the subjects of Twitter, Google Maps, and snails.

Clare read the book for me chapter by chapter as I wrote it, so she's quite familiar with it--and she in fact contributed a photograph to the book, which appears on page 11. Very kind of her to bring it up in her discussion with the man himself! Here's the interview.
