Wild boars, coming to a bookstore near you!

I'm happy to report that the Johns Hopkins University Press will be publishing my book Reading Herodotus: A Guided Tour through the Wild Boars, Dancing Suitors, and Crazy Tyrants of The History. It should be out in the fall of 2012.

Reading on the Kindle on the treadmill

How great is this? Particularly using Kindle's new landscape feature, reading on the Kindle while using my new treadmill is just perfect. The Kindle sits there obediently, no need to prop open the pages, waiting for my occasional requests for a new page. Font adjustable, of course. Again I say, you can't do this with a regular book. At least not as well.

Twenty-four minutes uphill just went by in a flash.
