Wild boars, coming to a bookstore near you!

I'm happy to report that the Johns Hopkins University Press will be publishing my book Reading Herodotus: A Guided Tour through the Wild Boars, Dancing Suitors, and Crazy Tyrants of The History. It should be out in the fall of 2012.

Twitter bookmarklet

I just tried out Twitlet and found that it was good for very fast updates to Twitter. I've added the bookmarklet to my bookmark bar. But it's limited because (1) there are no character counts and (2) you can't see replies to you. But still, good for some uses.

Anyway, it then occurred to me--and I should have thought of this before--that one can easily make a bookmarklet to take you in a new popup window to your replies page on Twitter--or indeed your main Twitter page. Easier, for me at least, than going to the site. Anyway, if you want to add a bookmarklet to your own main Twitter page, just drag this to your browser bar:

Twitter

If you want you can go into the code and adjust the size of the window, or make it go to your replies page by changing http://twitter.com/ to http://twitter.com/replies

Great, Miguel. I hope it's helpful!

Check out http://tinyurl.com/twititbookmarkletthis Twitter bookmarklet designed to help link microbloggers share links. It utilizes wither tinyurl.com or tr.im for url shortening. And unlike other bookmarklets, it brings over the page title and selected text into the twitter window for you to massage before submitting.

Hi, Black Hornet. The URL isn't working. Have a correction?

5.

I'm suggesting you to use EasyLinkr to share links via Twitter or by mail.
