Wild boars, coming to a bookstore near you!

I'm happy to report that the Johns Hopkins University Press will be publishing my book Reading Herodotus: A Guided Tour through the Wild Boars, Dancing Suitors, and Crazy Tyrants of The History. It should be out in the fall of 2012.

Jason Headley offers second book for free

Jason Headley is the author of Small Town Odds, one of the finest books I've read since I started writing book reviews over five years ago. Here's my review.

He has now written another novel, Pure Spirits, which he has so far been unable to find a publisher for. And so he's giving it away. It's free to download here. Normally I wouldn't jump to tell you about a book that's available for download, but Small Town Odds was something special.
