Sunday Salon: What day is it again?
Well, it's the second week in a row in which I haven't been able to read for the Salon. In fact, I read nothing today. In general, though, I'm reading an interesting book about the degradation of one's memory in middle age by Cathryn Jakobson Ramin: Carved in Sand. It seems to be having the effect of making me notice my own memory lapses more, making me somewhat paranoid....
So, no reading, but the day was not unproductive: we had a birthday party for my younger daughter, Melissa, who's turning 6 on Tuesday. It went very well. She has nice friends, and they all seemed to have a good time. I found myself wishing it could go on longer, which is a surprising development for the likes of me.

I have that book sitting on my little bookcase next to my bed but I keep forgetting to read it.

If you've had a children's birthday party you should be congratulated for having the energy to even blog. Have a good week.

Heh heh.
Ann: That's the amazing thing. I HATE parties and events of all sorts, yet this one was so pleasant I didn't feel tired out at all. Amazing! Plus, my older daughter was very nice afterwards and played with Melissa and her new presents all afternoon, which really helped.
