Thanks to Ian Hocking, I've been made aware that our happy group was actually mentioned in the Guardian over the weekend. Here's the article as Ian typed it out for me, having retrieved the paper from the recycling bin.
Guardian Review 11-3-07, p. 23:
"Those of a more peaceful disposition may feel inclined to join the discussions this weekend at an experimental new forum, the Sunday Salon [dhamel.typepad.com/sundaysalon]. In a return to the roots of book blogging, this time with added zip, the members are getting together 'at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones' to read, 'and blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book,' suggests one of the Salon's convenors, Debra Hamel. Sundays with Vlad, The Invisible Enemy, Rage, The Tin Woodsman of Oz, and Osman's Dream: A History of the Ottoman Empire are all titles that were read' last weekend, notes one Salonista, Petrona, on her own blog [petrona.typepad.com]. 'I'm already looking forward to next week.'"
