Thoughts: Chapter 7 finds Nancy experiencing the counterculture firsthand while visiting her son in San Francisco in 1967. It is really a bit jarring, Nancy's juxtaposition with hippiedom. Chapter 8 is set 8 years later: Murder stalks a feminist conference at Vassar that Nancy was attending.
