Wild boars, coming to a bookstore near you!

I'm happy to report that the Johns Hopkins University Press will be publishing my book Reading Herodotus: A Guided Tour through the Wild Boars, Dancing Suitors, and Crazy Tyrants of The History. It should be out in the fall of 2012.

Artistic toilets

Some gorgeous toilets on display on Brian Sibley's blog. Toilet aficionados may want to head over there for a look. (Thanks to Maxine for the heads up.)

Which makes me think that there surely is room in the world for a toilet-themed tour of the world. Some enterprising travel agency should think about this.

Thanks for the link - glad you liked the Amsterdam toilets! One or two less 'convenient' bogs have also featured on my blog:

here and there!

Sorry... the HTML links didn't appear. The 'here' and 'there' referred to in my last post are HERE...

Thanks Brian! Good reason never ever to travel. Greece: out. France: out. Apparently Australia and Northern Africa are also out.

Speaking of Australia, my face is still set in a grimace over the description of an Australian toilet by one of your commenters. I may never be able to dislodge that image from my fragile brain.
