Thoughts: In my last post on this book I said I was finding it tiresome. And I still am. But I'm torn. I laughed aloud at a scene in this last bit. Granted I'm 200 pages into it already, so one might have expected as much. Also, I don't know, I like the protagonist, and I want to like the book more. It does have great potential: book-centric, with a librarian as lead, an Englishman uprooted. It just somehow misses the mark for me. But I do think that some readers would have a much more favorable reaction to it.
I'm off to bed in minutes, though I'll be reading there for as long as I can. I should have time in the morning to post about the night's reading and perhaps to read a bit more before the Read-a-Thon closes its doors. Good night!

Goodnight! Stop by in the morning in case you win something!

Have a good sleep! So, I'm guessing that overall, this book was disappointing?

Hope you got in some good reading before you dropped off to sleep. I'm offering a bit of cheering - if there's still time in the morning.

I read that one during the summer. I don't think I'd want to read it sleepy. Good night and sweet dreams.

Ah, the best laid plans. I fell asleep immediately last night, no reading at all. Well, there's still two hours left....
I don't want to condemn this book, as I think it will appeal more to some readers. It's not awful, but I think it tries too hard to be quirky. I'll write up a regular review for book-blog.com when I finish it. BookGal, if you're there: what did you think of it? (By the way, thanks for adding the KidderLit widget to your blog!)
