Wild boars, coming to a bookstore near you!

I'm happy to report that the Johns Hopkins University Press will be publishing my book Reading Herodotus: A Guided Tour through the Wild Boars, Dancing Suitors, and Crazy Tyrants of The History. It should be out in the fall of 2012.

So, what would you do?

Karen has posed an interesting question over at Write From Karen, to which I've responded. Granted, it's a small thing, but it's by such small things that we're defined, no? Go see what you think.

1.

Typepad wouldn't let me on to comment last night...

I was going to say "That's what I like about you, Debra - You're NOT a weasel". Your good character comes across in your blog.

2.

Well, thank you, Susan!

3.

I should add here, too, that I liked your comment over there as well. I know, I know, I told you that already. Actually, the comments were very revealing, not only in the would you/would you not sense, but in other personality traits revealed: Clare asking about the cashier's last holiday, for example, Eric (that's Eric the Blogless, Master of Manitowoc and Points West again) trying to weasel his way into the cashier's good graces. Very interesting.

4.

So Eric the Blogless will hereinafter be known as Eric the Weasel. I hope he's in sales! Actually some of my best friends are weasel salesmen so I don't consider that to be too insulting. No insult intended now, Eric!

5.

Eric is sui generis.

I find that TypePad is not emailing me people's comments again--this happened once before at least and it was a temporary thing on their end. But if I'm not responding when I should that'll be the explanation.
