Wild boars, coming to a bookstore near you!

I'm happy to report that the Johns Hopkins University Press will be publishing my book Reading Herodotus: A Guided Tour through the Wild Boars, Dancing Suitors, and Crazy Tyrants of The History. It should be out in the fall of 2012.

Is it Melissa or Memorex?

Melissa has started blogging. This is a recent phenomenon, and part of her pretend play. She has informed me a few times now, typing on her keyboard, which is from an old computer, that she is blogging something. This evening she parroted me again in slightly different wise: "I'm gonna do the Set Puzzle," she said, "so be quiet."

I was, of course, because I know how easily one's concentration is broken when doing the Set.
